Sounds sweep I-Cubs to start season 4-0.

April 12, 2010

The Nashville Sounds (4-0) completed an away-series four-game sweep of the Iowa Cubs last night. This is Nashville’s best start since they started out 8-0 in 2003.

Sounds’ pitching has been stellar.  Nashville pitching leads the PCL with a current 1.46 ERA. The bull-pen has been phenomenal to date; with a minuscule .073 ERA.  Starters have only yield a 1.82 ERA to date.

As a team Nashville is batting just .243 but it has been enough runs to post four victories.

Slugger Brendan Katin has been the hot bat, batting .417 on the road so far, and smashing three HRs.

Big disappointments at the plate so far have been:

  • Almonte  .000  (0 for 5)
  • Farris .077 (1-13)
  • Hopper .235 (4 for 17)
  • Johnson .125 (1 for 8 )
  • Koshansky .091 (1-11)

Brendan Katin is our series MVP.  He went 5-12, 3 HR, 6 RBIs, 4 R, 4 BB, 2 K, SB. He is batting .417 through the first series.
