Sounds beat I-Cubs 6-3 in opener

April 8, 2010

The Nashville Sounds beat the Iowa Cubs in their away season-opener tonight by a score of 6-3.

Nashville saw excellent pitching by starter Kameron Loe (1-0) who went 6 innings, allowing four hits and three runs; striking out six and walking four. Braddock made his Nashville-debut working the 7th and 8th innings brilliantly, striking out the side in the 8th. Chris Smith worked a solid 9th to record his first save.

The Sounds saw plenty of lumber assistance from Brendan Katin who smashed two home runs tonight. He went 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Adam Heether was also on his A-game going 2 for 3, with a solo-homer. Going hitless for the Sounds were Farris and Koshansky, who struck out twice.
