Cody loses sixth game on three-day rest to OKC

July 26, 2009

The Nashville Sounds (55-46) were trounced today in Oklahoma City, losing their fourth of last five road games. The final score was 11-1.  The first place American North division Sounds are now just 2.5 games ahead of 2nd place Iowa.

Sound’s starter Chris Cody (4-6) lost his second straight game on the road. The southpaw worked 3 innings, yielding 8 hits, 6 runs (6 ER), one walk, no SOs.  The RedHawks also roughed up reliever Nick Green for Nashville. Green went three innings, giving up 6 hits, five runs (4 ER), one walk, 3 SOs.

7.6 from NIkon 236 by kwmcnutt.

Chris Cody, 4-6.

Cody struggled to find the strike-zone today. He threw 62 pitches of which just 38 were strikes. The RedHawks exploded against Cody in the 3rd inning, plating six runs as they sent 10 batters to the plate.

The last four Sound’s losses have been bad ones, all by four or more runs.

Though Nashville knocked out seven hits they had little offensive fruit to show for it, only scoring one run. They were just 1-for-3 with RISP.
