Sounds win in strong finish vs RedHawks 8-5

July 25, 2009

The Nashville Sounds found life late in the game tonight against the RedHawks as they coasted to an 8-5 victory on the strength of shortstop Alcides Escobar’s bat. Escobar was 5-for-5 tonight. He also scored two runs, hit a triple and had one RBI.

Hernan Iribarren was 3-for-5 and Jason Bourgeois went 2-for-4 to also lay down a multiple-hit game. Brendan Katin was just 1-for-5 but had two RBIs (78) in an otherwise lackluster performance at the plate in which he struck-out three times.

R.J. Swindle earned the win (3-1).
