Sounds win 3-1 rain-shortened finale vs Round Rock
The Nashville Sounds (51-39) won the five-game homestand finale against the Round Rock Express at Greer this afternoon by a slim margin of 3-1.
Chase Wright, re-activated off the DL, started and pitched well for three innings; yielding just three hits and one run. Sam Narron came in for relief in the 4th and worked five innings, yielding just two hits, no runs, and four strike outs as he took the win.
Round Rock’s only run came in the top of the 2nd. Mark Saccomanno led off with a triple (3) to right. Reggie Abercrombie then hit a sacrifice fly to RF to plate Saccomanno. 1-0 Express.
Nashville’s only inning of offense took place in the bottom of the 2nd. Joe Koshansky singled to lead off then one out later Katin smacked his 25th double to left [WATCH], scoring Koshansky. 1-1 tie. Katin advanced to 3B on a throwing error by LF Bogusevic.
Cole Gillespie then doubled (12) to CF plating Katin [WATCH-Listen]. 2-1 Sounds.
Johnny Raburn followed with an RBI single off 2B Maysonet’s glove to make it 3-1 Sounds. That would be the final score.
