Cody turns in quality start, but loses 3-0
The Nashville Sounds were blanked by the Round Rock Express tonight at Greer by a score of 3-0. LHP Chris Cody (L, 3-4) turned in a quality start but the lack of run-support resulted in his fourth loss of the season. Cody went six innings, giving up six hits, on just two runs (1 ER), four walks, and five strike outs. He threw 99 pitches, 62 were strikes.
Nashville only managed four hits all night. Their first hit came in the fifth on an Iribarren single. Salome singled int he 7th and the Sounds only threat was the 8th inning when they got hits from Almonte and Parejo.
Round Rock plated their first runner in the 2nd. An opening double by Spann was eventually followed by a double by the pitcher to make it 1-0 Express. Round Rock scored again in the 6th on a ground-out. John Gall’s RBI-single, scoring Abercrombie plated their last runner in the 7th. 3-0 Round Rock.
