Nasville’s LHP Chris Cody (3-3, 3.53) assumes mound tonight vs the Express

July 10, 2009

Southpaw Chris Cody takes the mound tonight at Greer for the Friday evening tangle with the Round Rock Express. Cody is coming off a quality start and win vs the Isoptopes from the Monday evening resumption of the Saturday July 4th suspended game. The lefty will face another lefty for the Express, Polin Trinidad (0-0, 2.70).

I’ve noticed Chris has been charting behind home plate several games since his last start.

Three of Cody’s last five starts have been quality ones, resulting in his three wins on the season.

  • July 4th – A win: 4.1 IP, 1 hit, 1 run, 1 BB, 4 SOs
  • June 30th – A loss: 5.0 IP, 6 hits, 5 runs, 2 BB, 3 SOs, 2 HRs
  • June 25th – A loss: 5.0 IP, 6 hits, 4 runs, 1 BB, 3 SOs
  • June 19th – A win: 8  IP, 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 BB, 4 SOs
  • June 12th – A win: 7 IP, 5 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, 3 SOs

Chris was called up to AAA Nashville for the first time of his career on June 5th. Here are highlights of his first start for the Sounds on June 6th.

Cody was an 8th round draft pick for the Detroit Tigers in 2006. Chris started with AA Huntsville in 2009 where he went 5-1 with a 2.30 ERA. Since being called up to Nashville in early June he has gone asolid 3-3, 3.53 ERA.
