Brendan Katin hit tonight's game-winning home run.

The Nashville Sounds (39-27) were down 3-1 after seven innings tonight but scored 4 times in the 8th inning to win against the Round Rock Express. R.J. Swindle pitched the 7th and 8th innings in near-perfect fashion to run his record to 2-0. Starter Chase Wright pitched well but did not figure in the decision. He went six innings, giving up six hits, 3 runs (1 earned), walked two and struck-out four.

Game summary:

There was no score until the sixth inning when Round Rock plated three runners. Reggie Abercrombie singled to center to lead off.  Manzella’s single advanced Abercrombie to 3rd.1st and 3rd, no outs. Brian Bogusevic then reached on a fielder’s choice to load the bases, no outs. Abercrombie scored and Manzella moved to second on a catch error by Wright. 1-0 Express.

One out later John Gall singled to right scoring Manzella. 2-0 Express. Bogusevic to 3rd. With two outs and bases loaded, Wright walked Smith scoring Bogusevic.  3-0 Express.

The Sounds plated one run in the seventh on a solo shot (121) by Joe Koshansky to lead-off.  3-1 Express.

It would take the 8th inning for the Sounds to make their come-from-behind effort. Garciaparra led-off with a walk. Bourgeois then tripled (4) to right scoring Michael Garciaparra. 3-2 Express. Escobar’s sac-fly tied the game 3-3, scoring Bourgeois.

One out later Koshansky walked and Brendan Katin followed with a line drive to center for his 15th homer of the season, and the game-winning RBIs.  5-3 Sounds victory.
