Bud Norris’s pitching shuts down Sounds

June 15, 2009

How do you shut down a team that is red-hot? Pitching. More specifically, Bud Norris of the Round Rock Express. Norris came into the game tonight with a 2-4 record. He pitched like he was 8-0 tonight.  He worked eight innings and only yielded two Nashville Sounds hits.  Silent were the bats of the previous night’s heroes: Gillespie, Bourgeois and Salome.

Game summary:

A Yordany Ramires three-run homer (7) in the the fourth inning, yielded by starter Lindsay Gulin, put the Round Rock Express up 3-0. John Gall’s double (11) in the 5th plated the fourth Express run.  4-0 Express. Gall struck again in the 9th with a solo shot (6) to make the final score 5-0 Round Rock.

A 2nd inning Koshansky single gave Nashville it’s first hit and it wasn’t until the 9th inning that a Corporan single provided the Sounds their only other hit. Lindsay Gulin (3-3) took the loss.

The loss snapped Nashville’s season-long seven game win-streak.  The Sounds are 38-27.  Round Rock is 30-34.
