Lindsay Gulin (3-2, 5.40 ERA)

Who is the first player in 2009 for the Nashville Sounds to win the PCL “Player of the Week”?

Mat Gamel?  Nope. Brendan Katin?  Nope.  Then surely Alcides Escobar!  No.Mike Burns?  Tim Dillard? Give up?

Try Lindsay Gulin.

The PCL named LHP Lindsay Gulin the Pitcher of the Week for the June 1-7 period. During that week Gulin started twice, went 1-0, and had a 0.00 ERA. He allowed just one earned run in 14.0 innings pitched. He won the June 2nd game in a 3-0 shut-out, throwing a three-hitter against Iowa.

He started the June 7th game two in which the Sounds won 3-1 against Omaha, but figured in a no-decision.

The 32-yr old has won the award three times previously, twice in 2008.  Gulin will pitch next on the 13th against the Memphis Redbirds.

I have blogged on or about Guilin many times this year. Click here to see those posts.
