LHP Chris Cody gets his first start tonight against I-Cubs

June 5, 2009

LHP Chris Cody was promoted from Huntsville Double-A to Triple-A Nashville on June 2, 2009.

Left-hander Chris Cody makes his career Triple-A debut with a start for the Sounds this evening. The 25 year old lefty opened the season with Huntsville-AA and went 5-1 with a 2.30 ERA in ten starts. Southern League batters were only hitting .195 against him. Cody struck out 48 hitters and only walked ten in almost 59 innings.

This footage is his first warm-up at Greer Stadium in Nashville under the eye of pitching coach Chris Bosio.

Cody (0-0) will take the mound tonight at historic Greer Stadium against Kevin Hart (0-3, 3.93) of the Iowa Cubs. He is the 10th starting pitcher for the Sounds this year. Nashville employed 18 different starters in 2008.

Kevin Hart (Iowa) pitched effectively in relief against the Sounds in a 3-0 shut-out on April 26th.
