Nashville Sound’s Chase Wright blanks I-Cubs again, 3-0

Adam Heether knocked in two runners today.

For the second straight day, by an identical score, the Nashville Sounds shut-out the Iowa Cubs by a score of 3-0.  Nashville’s Wright (W, 4-5) pitched an excellent six innings, yielding zero runs on just three hits; walking and striking out one. Iowa’s starter-ace, J.R. Mathes (L, 7-4) only worked two innings but earned the loss.

Nashville increased their record to 30-24 (.556) while Iowa dropped to 26-28 (.481).

Adam Heether provided most of the fire-power today by knocking in two runs.

Game summary:

Nashville got on the board first in the 1st inning with a one-out Escobar double (12)  followed by Adam Heether’s RBI single to left [WATCH].  1-0 Sounds.

The Sounds again plated a runner in the fifth, With one out Bourgeois walked. Bourgeois then stole (11) second base. Escobar then singled to left and Bourgeois advanced to 3rd. Heether then grounded out 1-3 but Bourgeois scored. 2-0 Sounds.

Nashville plated their last run in the 6th inning. Erick Almonte hit into a sac-fly double-play to right, scoring Koshansky. Iribarren was thrown out at 3B for the final out.  3-0 Sounds.
