Nashville Sounds: Lindsay Gulin throws a three-hitter, blanks I-Cubs 3-0

Nashville Sound’s LHP Lindsay Gulin (2-2, 7.07) turned in a superb outing tonight at historic Greer Stadium tonight to blank the Iowa Cubs 3-0 before a home crowd of 3,087 fans. The Sounds extend their record to 29-24 and retain first-place in the American North division. Iowa falls to 26-27 in the same division.

Gulin (W, 3-2) was spot-on tonight. He worked 8 innings, just yielded three hits, no runs, walked two and struck-out four. His ERA dropped down to 5.94 for the season. Chris Smith pitched the ninth in relief and earned his 11th save in his one-hit work.

Game summary

With two out in the 2nd inning, Adam Heether singled. Angel Salome then came up and doubled (5) Heether home.  It proved to be the game-winning run.  1-0 Sounds.

The 4th inning looked similar as Koshansky singled with two outs. Adam Heether then doubled (6) to left scoring Koshansky. [WATCH] 2-0 Sounds.

Then in the 6th inning, with two outs again, Adam Heether doubled (7) again scoring Katin. 3-0 Sounds win.
