Brendan Katin is the Las Vegas 51s series MVP
Sometimes a manager has to get a player’s attention.
Nashville Sounds manager Don Money sent a message to outfielder Brandon Katin loud and clearly recently, “Sit down and think about it.”
From May 10-16th Brendan Katin sat on the Sound’s dugout watching. And even when he was re-inserted into the line-up again (17-May) – after a week’s woodshed respite – Money only let him pinch-hit the designated hitter. Katin responded. He hit a two-run homer, only his second of the season. “Put me in coach. I’m ready to play,” is what Brendan’s bat seemed to be screaming.
Katin played the last three games of the series between the Sounds and the 51s and his performance in those three games has earned him the AttheOldBallGame.com series MVP award.
Katin went 4 for 9 in those three games, hit a home run, scored a run, and drove in four runs, including the game-winning RBI tonight in the exciting 9th inning come-from-behind victory over the 51s.
