Chase Wright takes the mound today. Year so far?

May 13, 2009

LHP Chase Wright (1-4, 5.34) takes the mound today at Greer. In his five appearances this year he has pitched better than his record belies.

A lot of people have high expectations for the southpaw. In 2008 he split the year between three clubs in the New York Yankees organization, posting a 10-3 record, one save, and a 2.72 ERA (41er/135.2ip) in 24 games (22 starts) among Double-A Trenton, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and GCL Yankees (rehab).

Tremendous pitcher. His 2-seam and 4-seam fastball are usually pin-pointed to target. He finds a lot of takers when throwing his hook and slider also. A solid pitcher with dedication imbedded in him from childhood love of the game. Great baseball player. Keep up the good work Chase.
