The streaking Nashville Sounds (14-11) will turn to lefty Lindsay Gulin (1-1, 8.53) on the mound today (12:05 CST) to try and keep their road record stellar. Their opponent are the Iowa Cubs (13-11) who have now lost five in a row. Iowa will counter with RHP Jose Ascanio (0-1, 1.25).

Gulin has pitched pretty well this year with the exception of his last start  (4.30) in which he took his first loss; giving up five runs (all earned), on eight hits, walking seven batters and striking out two.

He won his first start on 4/10 in a 10-6 marathon. He then pitched in relief on 4.14 in a Sounds-loss. On April 24th Gulin pitched solidly against the Redbirds; pitching five innings of no-hit ball, yielding four walks and striking out two in the no-decision.

Gulin has been excellent against Iowa recently. He is 1-0 with an 0.86 ERA (2er/21.0ip) in his previous four outings against the Cubs.
