Iowa series again pitts Sound’s slugger Mat Gamel against Cubs slugger Jake Fox.

May 4, 2009

Iowa slugger Jake Fox and Sounds slugger Mat Gamel went at it head-to-head in a recent four-game stand at Greer (Apr 24-28th). I blogged on how that match-up did not disappoint.  This one should not either.

In his own right, Mat Gamel is having a stellar season; batting .385, eight doubles, seven home runs. To date however, Jake Fox is putting up even more impressive numbers; batting .420, 12 home runs and 31 RBIs.

The first series with Iowa-Nashville, Jake Fox was 7-13, scored 7 runs, doubled twice, slugged 4 HRs, knocked in 6 runs, walked 4 times and struck out twice. Mat Gamel was 6-15, scored three times, doubled once, hit 2 HRs, knocked in 4 runs, walked three times, and struck-out three times.
