Sounds begin 4-game series against Omaha Thursday

The Nashville Sounds (11-9) begin a four-game home stand series against division rivals Omaha Royals (11-8) Thursday evening. The Sounds and Royals split the 2008 season series 8-8. They have been playing for 23 years and the all-time series record is also split at 176-176.

The hottest players for Omaha are Tug Hulett (.357), Ryan Shealy (.348), J.R. House (.347), and Luis Hernandez (.328).

Hot bats for Nashville are: Mat Gamel (.394), Hernan Iribarren (.328), and Tony Gwynn (.301). Though with many fewer games, Adam Heether (.364) and Carlos Corporan (.333) will bring hot bats into the contest as well. In their most recent game (4.28, 7-4 win), seven Sound’s players got 2 or more hits.
