Nashville pitcher Chris Smith; series MVP against Iowa.

We have awarded Nashville’s reliever Chris Smith the series MVP award against the Iowa Cubs. He figured prominently in both Nashville wins in the 2-2 split-series.

Smith pitched in relief in game one (6-3) and took the win (1-0), after Mike Burns pitched well. In game one Smith threw 3 innings, gave up just one hit, no runs, no walks and struck-out 4.

In the finale of the series (7-4 victory)  Smith again came in relief and earned the save (3) for starter Tim Dillard (4-0).  He pitched 1.2 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 run (none earned), no walks and one strike-out.

As the series MVP Chris Smith was a combined:

4.2 innings | 4 hits | 1 run (0 earned) | 0 walks | 5 SOs
