Sounds pitching has cooled previously-hot Memphis bats

April 24, 2009

We posted before the Redbirds-Sounds series started that the hottest bats for Memphis as the series began were Shane Robinson (.395), Allen Craig (.333), and Tyler Greene (.326).

How has Sound’s pitching responded to these batters in the first three games in this opening series between the two clubs? The Memphis trio are a combined .240 (6 for 25). They were a combined .351 as the series started.

Sound’s pitching has virtually shut down the previous hot bats of Robinson, Craig and Greene. In particular, Greene is just 1 of 10. He was batting .326 coming into the series.
