Mat Gamel bats against the Red Hawks.

The Nashville Sounds have won their first three road games of the 2009 season against the New Orleans Zephyrs by using the heavy lumber and scoring efficiently.

During the streak the Sounds have recorded 39 hits (ave 13 a game), while yielding 26 runs to their opponent. Their three victories have produced a combined total of 23 (ave of 7.6 game) runs while giving up 9.

The Sound’s win-streak has come as a result of solid teamwork in the offensive category. Nashville started the series batting .273 as a team but have raised that to a league fifth-place .289 mark.

Gamel (.436), Iribarren (.375) and Katin (.356) are swinging the hottest bats right now. The victory Sunday night (9-7) was fueled by timely run-scoring singles by by Bourgeois, Almonte, and Escobar in the crucial come-from-behind sixth inning.

The team is playing consistent and smart baseball right now.
