Sounds collapse in 10th inning, fall to Zephyrs 11-5

New Orleans Zephyrs versus the Nashville Sounds

The final score was not indicative of how close the game was for nine full innings. In fact, after nine complete innings the Sounds and the Zephyrs were nodded up at five. The Sounds fought back from a 5-0 deficit by scoring three in the 6th inning and two runs in the 7th inning.

The Zephyrs sent 11 batters to the plate in the 10th inning as they posted six runs in an inning that frankly just blew up for the Sounds. In the 10th New Orleans reached base on six hits. Nashville did not help themselves in the inning as Gamel committed a costly 2-run error, Ginter threw a wild pitch and hit a batter.

The Zephryrs scored 7 0f 18 runners in scoring position for the evening while the Sounds only managed to get 4 of 12 runners home from scoring position.

Wood (1-0) captured the win for New Orleans while Sound’s pitcher Ginter suffered his first loss of the season.

1,844 Sounds fans watched the game which lasted almost 3 hours.
