Nashville Sounds suffer tough loss in 2009 home opener against New Orleans 7-5

Nashville kept it close for seven innings in the home opener against the New Orleans Zephyrs tonight but a three run 8th for the road team spoiled the 2009 home opener for 6,951 Nashville fans at newly renovated Greer Stadium.

Nate Field (1-0) for New Orleans posted his first win (in relief), while Sanches notched his first save. Wes Littleton (0-1) for the Sounds was pegged with the loss in relief.

Mat Gamel, 3B, had the hot bat for the Sounds as he went 2-4, with two RBIs.  Nashville only scored three of a possible twelve runners who were in scoring position tonight.
