Heether’s home run heroics propel Sounds to much-needed victory over Memphis
Adam Heether slammed two home runs tonight at Greer Stadium to propel Nashville to a come-from-behind win against first-place division rivals Memphis Redbirds. Nashville was behind 6-1 when they came to the plate in the bottom of the 7th. The Sounds scored six runs in the inning to take a 7-6 lead. Adam Heeter… the true 2009 Nashville Sounds MVP. It’s kind of ironic looking back. Over the last two years I’ve had the chance to get to know Adam a little better then the average fan. We’d talk before most every game about all kinds of things. Thursday being the last home game of 2009 we had the chance to talk for a while before the game started. The last thing he said to me.. with a grin.. “Tonight’s going to be a big night..a very big night…I can feel it” Yup buddie.. you sure were right…!!!
Until his homerun, the evening was depressing. Adam’s heroics generated some hope in the home crowd.
