Brendan Katin to appear in All-Star Home Run Derby tonight

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Six of Triple-A’s top sluggers, including Sounds outfielder Brendan Katin, are set to compete in the American Family Insurance All-Star Home Run Derby scheduled for Monday, July 13 at 9 p.m. CT at PGE Park in Portland, Oregon.

The All-Star Home Run Derby is being held in conjunction with the 2009 Cricket Wireless Triple-A All-Star Game, a matchup between the top players from the Pacific Coast League and International League that will take place at PGE Park on Wednesday, July 15 on ESPN2.

Brendan Katin of the Nashville Sounds is tied for 2nd in the Pacific Coast League with 19 home runs. He is the first Sound to participate in the Triple-A Home Run Derby.
