Lasorda was a Yankee-fan originally?

Tommy Lasorda sat in front of me last night at Greer and I overheard one fan ask him about his first devotion as a fan to a baseball team.

The guy said something like, “Hey Tommy, I read somewhere you were originally a Yankee fan as a kid.”

To which Lasorda replied in his classic Lasorda-nese:

“Yeah I was a Yankee fan until I realized I was a stupid kid; then I became a Dodger fan.”
