Nashville defeats Round Rock on road 6-3, Gulin wins 4th game
The Nashville Sounds (45-35) finally supported starter Lindsay Gulin (W, 4-4) with some offense on their way to defeating the Round Rock Express (36-42) 6-3 tonight in Round Rock, Texas.
Game summary:
The Express took an early 1-0 lead in the first but the Sounds busted out with a big inning in the fifth, plating four men. Adam Heether singled to lead-off. Katin followed with a single to right (he was 4-for-4 tonight, with a solo HR). A third straight single in the inning – the next by Drew T. Anderson – plated Heether. 1-1 tie. One out later Bourgeois hit an RBI ground- out scoring Katin. 2-1 Sounds. Escobar then walked and Iribarren’s single scored Anderson 3-1 Sounds. Martin Maldonado then stroked an RBI-single scoring Escobar. 4-1 Sounds.
Adam Heether led off with his 8th home run of the year in the top of the sixth. 5-1 Sounds. Brendan Katin’s 18th homer of the season in the 8th made it 6-1 Sounds.
Round Rock scored once in the 8th and the 9th to make the final score 6-3 Sounds.
Lindsay Gulin earned his 4th victory (4-4) and Bud Norris (3-6) suffered the loss.
