Sounds struggle offensively again in 5-1 loss to RedHawks

Cody (L, 2-3)
LHP Chris Cody (L, 2-2) was roughed up in five innings of work tonight vs the RedHawks giving up five runs on six hits as the Sounds went down to defeat by a score of 5-1. Nashville only had three hits all night.
Cole Gillespie’s solo shot (6) to left in the 3rd inning gave Nashville a 1-0 lead [LISTEN] but it would not last. The RedHawks plated two runs in the 4th and 3 more in the 5th. German Esteban’s 4th homer of the season, a two- run blast, gave the RedHawks a 2-1 lead after four.
Cody just did not have his usual sharpness tonight and was touched again hard in the 5th inning. He gave up a homer, a double, a single, a sac-fly, a walk, a HBP, and an RBI ground out in the 5th as three RedHawks scored in the inning. 5-1 RedHawks.
The Sounds were completely flat offensively except for Bourgeois (2 for 4) and Gillespie’s home run.
Dustin Nippert (1-0) took the win for Oklahoma City.
Watch Cody warm-up and retire the first batter tonight.
