RHP John Axford must feel like he is living right. The young righty was called up on June 24th and pitched his first Nashville Triple-A game the next night, earning his very first Triple-A victory. He worked two full innings (13th and 14th) in perfect fashion to notch his first win.

Axford pitched in relief last night against the Red Hawks. He yielded a lead-off double to Emerson Frostad then settled down – and set down. He struck out Boggs looking, Golson swinging and got Murphy to ground out to Escobar to end the game.

Axford was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 42nd round of the 2005 June Draft.
