Nashville Sound’s closer Chris Smith called up by Milwaukee

How ironic.  I came home from last night’s game in which Chris Smith earned his team-leading 12th save and told my wife that Smith was not going to be in Nashville much longer.  Sure enough, Smith got his call this morning to head for Milwaukee. It’s a call well-earned.

Smith had a 2-0 record (1.38 ERA) in 21 appearances with the Sounds this year. In 32 2/3 innings he struck out 35 batters. His 12 saves for Nashville was good enough for 2nd-place in the PCL.

He pitched in 12 games for the Red Sox last year before signing as free-agent with Milwaukee this year.
Smith replaces former Nashville hurler Mark DiFelice on Milwaukee’s roster.

Here is a link to all the posts I’ve made on the blog related to Chris Smith this year.
