Milwaukee Brewers trade Tony Gwynn to Padres
Tony Gwynn has been traded to the San Diego Padres the Milwaukee Brewers announced today. In exchange, the Brewers get outfielder Jody Gerut.
Gwynn had been the most consistent player on the Sound’s team in 2009. He was batting .309, with nine RBIs, 34 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases. He hit safely in 15 of his last 17 contests.
Tony is a San Diego native and will be joining the same organization his father played for 20+ seasons.
Gerut will report to Milwaukee on the 22nd.
Here is a link to all the posts I made on Tony Gwynn this year so far.
